HOW WAS THE COMPANY FORMED
Legit Ideas 💡 spelled as LegittIDEAS was denoted by Lucas, he pointed out that the spelling with two T’s denoted the legitimacy of the brand meaning it’s extra legit.
Lucas started using the name LegittIDEAS to sell his services in a freelance platform called Fiverr.
LegittIDEAS was formed on 20th, October 2020 the company was started initially by Lucas just needing a name for his Fiverr account. So pretty much at that time, it wasn’t yet a company.
Over time after making some sales his Fiverr account got disabled and he was asked to verify it, in his attempt to do so it was unsuccessful because In his Country (Nigeria) the most common means of identification available to the average masses wasn’t acceptable in international platforms. So he was told he needed an international passport to get his Fiverr account active again.
He doesn’t have the funds to process any form of an international passport at the moment, so he was back to square one again.
LegittIDEAS AS AN INDEPENDENT HUSTLE
After LegittIDEAS account got disabled on Fiverr, Lucas got a bit depressed because at that moment that was his major source of income.
But he later got past it, he opened another Fiverr account with the name Lucasdusky.
But after waiting for some while he couldn’t make any sales, broke and devasted he read a book called “Be Obsessed or Be Average” by American entrepreneur Grant Cardone. That kinda gave him the motivation he needed, Lucas then realized he couldn’t depend or rely on freelance platforms entirely.
That’s when he started reaching out to people he knows who have businesses and offered to develop a website for them.
After a few unsuccessful attempts he was able to convince a friend who has a caterpillar business selling spear parts, Lucas developed his first major business website independent of any freelance platform.
After that, he continued searching for clients using Instagram to source for small businesses that don’t have any website. He charged little fees to gain their trust and to as well get enough portfolios.
With time he had enough portfolios to show up for his work. But then the big depression now it was time to get serious with work increase his prices and earn a good buck but unfortunately, it’s hard getting people to pay you more for your services.
Lucas continued hitting up prospects and was not able to secure any project for 7weeks.
THE COMPANY WAS FORMED
One day Lucas was having a discussion with his brother and that was when his brother asked him whether he knows that his business is actually a company.
It was at that moment that Lucas realized he hasn’t been taking his business seriously because he has been taking it as just a side hustle thingy. He said at that moment he realized truly that his business was not just an individual something but rather a company.
It was at this moment that Lucas remembered the word be ” Obsessed or be Average”. He then started creating a company website for himself, got a few guys in his team. A graphic designer, a Sales strategist/marketer, and a photographer.
And he approached his first client with an idea of total branding rather than just a website. And it was a win for him, thus the brand LegittIDEAS was formed and was back to life.
